Section 14

Voted the "Best Place to Watch A Hockey Game" by the New Haven Advocate!

"The notorious Section 14, where so many bloodthirsty New Haven hockey fans for generations made life hell for opposing players."
- Fran Fried, New Haven Register -

"The Coliseum became a tough place for visiting teams to play in thanks to the rowdy denizens of Section 14.
Seated near the visitors bench, Section 14ers didn't care who was near them. They did their part to create
home ice advantage for their Nighthawks, and later the Senators and Beast. They weren't liked by many
home fans in the arena, but there's no doubt which fans were the most loyal win or lose."

- Jerry Higgins, New Haven Register -

"If you came by our rink you'd definetly notice the rowdiness of our fans.
(Section 14) That's a rowdy section, if you ever come to New Haven, check out Section 14."

- Shane Willis, Beast of New Haven -

"Whenever I hear the Guns N' Roses' song "Welcome to the Jungle," I will remember the fans of Section 14,
pointing toward the old Nighthawks banners that hung from the Coliseum's rafters."

- Chris Elsberry, Connecticut Post 1/27/07 -

Section 14 at the New Haven Coliseum

"The die-hards who sit in this section have got the history, the volume, the cheers and enough attitude to get
under any opposing team's skin. Good, loud, dedicated and obnoxious. Welcome to 'The Jungle,' baby."

- New Haven Advocate, Readers Poll 2001 -
